Sony DSC P200 Driver Update

November 14th, 2011 No comments

One of the high-end cameras of Sony is the Sony DSC P200, which allows you to take pictures of high resolution and great clarity. However, you won’t get to do a lot of things with it if you do not have the right driver installed on your computer. If you already have the camera unit but still in need of the drivers, below are the steps to take to download them.

  • Where else to get the Sony drivers that you need, but the Sony support page? Visit the site and look for the USB drivers specially made for your digital camera.
  • One of the most important things to know when downloading any driver is your computer’s operating system. If you fail to download the correct driver compatible with your laptop and OS, then it won’t work for your camera. If you are unsure of your computer’s OS, you can check by clicking the ‘My Computer’ icon in the Start Menu, and choose the ‘Properties’ option. There you will find the operating system you are using.
  • Click on the drop menu which can be found on the bottom of Sony’s support page, and select the OS that your computer is using. Doing so will direct you to a list of available drivers for your Sony DSC P200. However, if it doesn’t show any results, you need to make sure that the ‘Everything’ tab is selected so that all the available files will show up.
  • Once you find the file that you need, click on the ‘download’ link, and you are all set.
Aside from downloading your Sony DSC P200 driver, you also need to constantly update your computer drivers. This can be done easier if you have a tool that will check for automatic updates, and download the software for you. Interested? Click on the link for free download.

April 26th, 2011 No comments

Bluetooth stacks are drivers that carry out protocol changes in Bluetooth devices integrated in the personal computer or laptop. Toshiba produces its own Bluetooth stack since 2001, when they first released a laptop with a Bluetooth antennae inside the lid. The company has also licensed other original equipment manufacturers like Fujitsu, ASUS, Dell, and Sony  to use their Bluetooth stack.

The latest update of Bluetooth stack (April 26, 2011) for Windows by Toshiba is on its 8.00.03 version, and it now supports Bluetooth 3.0, thus enabling high-speed transfers, fixes issues from the previous update, and supports more Bluetooth hardware. The update will run on Windows 98 or higher versions of Windows OS.

PTZ Controller Driver Update

March 1st, 2011 No comments

A PTZ camera (pan-tilt-zoom) is a type of closed-circuit television camera that is more typically used in film and television production or for video security systems. The camera is usually mounted on a movable mechanical frame that gives it a wide directional capability and its zoom and other view functions are remotely controlled. Hence such cameras are also sometimes referred to as robotic cameras.

PTZ Controller is a camera application developed by Serial Port Tool for this particular type of video device. It is in fact a virtual keyboard that simulates all the functionality of the hardware console that’s commonly used for controlling PTZ cameras. As such it can be easily installed on the PC to which the PTZ is connected and give you more flexibility in your operations. The usable and supported ports for this application are RS232, RS485, RS422, and the typical USB with the proper converter. It also has support for the various video protocols set by different manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung, LG, and Canon.

This latest update of PTZ Controller is version 2.9 released March 1, 2011. Additional features now allow for direct use through a command line interface and accommodation of Sony AUX commands. This application can run on the Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 platforms.

The 30-day trial of PTZ Controller is fully functional. You can download your copy right here.
